This Is What Your Fingernails Are Warning You About Organ Failure, Inflammation, or Worse

The color of a healthy nail is pink with a hint of white moonlight at the base. If the color of your nail is different, it means that you have a hidden health problem.

White nails indicate the presence of liver disease, such as hepatitis
Bluish fingernails indicate a low amount of oxygen in the blood.
Green nails indicate the presence of a bacterial infection.
Dark stripes at the top indicate congestive heart failure and aging.
Dull nails indicate vitamin deficiency.
The red streak in the nail bed indicates that you have a heart valve infection.
Rub your nails and examine the color again. Considering the number of possible health issues, you need to know what sign your nail is giving you.

THICK NAIL:
A thick nail is not a normal condition. The nails should be strong; be careful if they look like talons or claws. Rough, thick nails are usually a sign of fungal infection
Abnormal thick nails indicate the presence of lung disease
Such type of separated nails can mean psoriasis or thyroid disease.
Unusual thickness could be a sign of a circulation problem.
Beware of allergic reactions to newer drugs if you have thick nails.

CONCAVED NAILS:
Your fingernails must curl to form a dip to be considered a full spoon. Many problems can be an indicator, they include the following:

Iron deficiency.
Hypothyroidism
Heart disease
Hemochromatosis – a disorder of the liver in which the body absorbs too much iron.
The link between health issues and fingernails is very real, what you need to do is treat the health issue that is causing spoon nails and they will return to their natural shape.

PERFORATED NAILS:
Small pits in the nails may occur due to the clicking of the hands or may indicate an underlying health problem such as:

Zinc deficiency
Connective tissue disorder
Psoriasis
Alopecia areata – an autoimmune abnormality that causes hair loss.
They will clear up immediately if they are natural teeth while the disease-related pits tend to linger.

PEAKS:
A healthy nail has invisible lines on a smooth surface. If your nails have ridges, this is a warning sign for a situation such as:

Lupus
Iron deficiency
Inflammatory arthritis
Don’t ignore the signs, instead look for the underlying causes.

BRITTLE AND DRY NAILS:
Toenails and brittle fingernails have a strong link with hormonal imbalance and bacterial infections.
The fungus can fry the nails or even dry them out.
Fungal and thyroid problems take longer to heal, so for a full growth cycle, don’t expect to see tangible changes.
Thyroid disease can be revealed by signs of dry, brittle nails
